This 15-hour course is designed for anyone using or looking to use drones. We cover the operation of various models, hands-on flight practice, uses and applications across industries, FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) regulations, operational risks, insurance, career opportunities and much more. If you are currently working, or considering a career in, real estate, construction, transportation, agriculture, insurance, public safety, photography, media, inspection, etc. or want to start a business, you’ll learn how your industry can be transformed in new, cost-effective ways. We will discuss how the citizens of Maine are using these unmanned aircraft in their businesses and how best you can employ drones in your business or start a new one. Prerequisites: Must have a minimum of 8th grade English reading and writing level, and comfortable using a computer and internet browser. NOTE: Class times include a working lunch. Please come prepared with a bagged lunch, snacks and drinks. Microwave and fridge are available for use.

This will be a combined class with two (2) virtual on-line classes via Zoom then one (1) face-to-face flying day.
Saturdays, 7/11 & 7/18, 9am to 1pm, on-line classes
Saturday, 7/25, 9am to 1pm, Face-to-face fly day (rain/wind dates 7/26 or 8/1)
Fly day will be held on the Windham High School campus, Softball Field #1 located behind the tennis courts.
Students will be e-mailed invitations prior to each virtual on-line class which will provide them with the link for that days Zoom meeting.
We ask that all students bring their own drinks or snacks and to be advised that there may not be restroom facilities available on campus during this time.
We ask that participants bring a mask in the event it will be needed and observe all 6 foot social distancing guidelines.
