Maine families have access to two valuable programs to assist with saving and paying for education after high school: the $500 Alfond Grant and Maine’s College Savings program. The First Aid class includes: medical emergencies, bleeding that you can see, bleeding you cannot see, treating for shock, and how and when to call emergency services. The course cost includes a blend of powerpoint and video, instructor and practical components, and a certificate of completion. Love plants but don’t have a “green thumb”? Come learn all the basics and needs to create your own “Nature in a Glass”. Discover how ecosystems and “clean up crews” work. Learn a bit of the science involved as we prepare the soil and the plants, arranging them in a visually appealing style. This is a great way to connect with nature and creative a living work of art! Materials fee of $35 (cash please) payable to instructor at class.

Learn about adult, child and infant CPR and AED use, adult, child and infant choking, and how and when to call emergency services. Course includes use of manikins, video, certified instruction, practical components, and a certificate of completion. We'll cover navigating your iPad, its Camera and Photos apps, the options available in Settings, ways to communicate through writing and video, plus how to answer and make phone calls. Learn about the apps that came already loaded on your iPad like the Calendar and Siri, your virtual assistant. It is important that you have the most current iOS update; but don’t worry—if you don’t know how, we will show you the steps. Finally, you will also learn about accessibility features that are helpful for folks with finger mobility, sight, or hearing difficulties.
